Sugar and Spice and all that's Nice (and FISHING?)

It's your first birthday, Lilly,
One candle on your cake;
Proud parents stare in wonder
At each new move you make.
We join in celebration,
As this special date arrives,
For Lilly has brought pleasure
Into all our lives.
We look forward now to seeing
How you progress and grow,
From the cute and tiny infant
You were one year ago.
So dig into your icing;
Enjoy your presents, too.
The reason for this day
Is a special person--you!

This weekend we celebrated Lilly's first birthday at Lilly's favorite Aunt Ang & Uncle Kevin's house. We had great food, great friends, great cake and our man Rilley had some GREAT FISHING!
Grandpa Briggs bought Rilley a Spiderman fishing pole and he was having a great time fishing in the kiddie/dog pool. Then Uncle Greg and Dad came back from fishing and brought their minnows, which ended up, you guessed it.... in the pool... so while Lilly was busy wallering in cake and opening presents, Rilley was catching some slabbers! Look out Grandpa Bill and Uncle Greg, you have some competition coming up... Rilley is a fishing machine.

The weather was perfect for the party and the kids and the adults had a great time eating way too much food and cake, Lilly enjoyed the cake the most though, as she had her own and she figured out that frosting is YUMMY! Lilly got some great presents including some new clothes, a new bathing suit, a fun walk behind toy to practice her running and a purse which included lipstick, and other fun toys... The purse ended up in Rilley's hands which was very concerning to the Grandpa's, Uncles, and Dad so Rilley went back to fishing...

Toothfaries and learning to drive

Well it is summer time which means fun times at the Peck house on the patio....

It's been a long time since Bill & I have seen the tooth fairy, but tonight Morgan Pace is going to have her first tooth fairy visit and Bill and I were luck enough to be a part of it.... it took 4 of us to get the tooth out, but Aunt Jen finally helped Morgan pull that stubborn tooth out so that she could get a visit from the toothfairy tonight!

And then... as if we weren't having enough of a party trying to get Mo's tooth out... who comes driving up but our favorite CITY FOLK... and the crazy thing is HE IS DRIVING yes I said driving...... I could see him from all the way down the road and I couldn't find the camera fast enough... here comes CITY FOLK driving down the road - he isn't old enough for that.... or is he? Oh man Jaydn we can't beleive it... but... you were doing a great job so we know you can do it....

Fun @ Formula K

Around Chrismastime Cole came home from school and told his mom & dad that he got detention for being bad at school (we will spare Cole the embarrassment of all the details).... of course, everyone was shocked because Cole is a great student and all the teachers love him. So, typical me I decide a bet is in order... I asked Cole if he thought he could make it the rest of the year and not get into trouble again... we decided a trip to Formula K would be the reward if he could make it...

Well.... he made it the whole rest of the year without beating up on any other kids, yelling in class, throwing snowballs, or forgetting to write his name on his paper... or anything else you can get in trouble for when you are in first grade.... SO Formula K here we come! We played some arcade games, practiced our Tiger Woods moves on the putt-putt golf course and smashed into eachother on the bumper car course... The picture below is Cole's hole in 1 (yes he beat me at Putt-Putt and I cried)

After I dried up my tears from the severe beating I took in golf we went back for some more arcade games on a mission to get some more tickets so Cole could win a prize (Yes I did play the easiest game possible in order to rack up the tickets, come on what kind of Aunt would I be if I didn't do that?) We piled up a grand total of 277 tickets and had a serious debate over what toy/toys to choose... After much serious deliberation and mind changing we ended up with a stuffed animal and some other miscellaneous toys... then it was off to bumper cars where we smashed into eachother until our heads hurt... Last but not least Cole picked the spot for dinner.... and even though I tried I could not talk him out of McDonalds.... we need to work on Cole's culinary tastes... or we need to talk a good restaurant into having a playland....

Great Job Cole on finishing up First Grade without getting into trouble... I think we will up the odds next year, how about 1 whole year of not getting in trouble and we will go to Cedar Point....? I'm betting you can do it.

Finally...... Proof of the FISH STORY!

Hey faithful blog readers... I didn't forget about you - it was a little busy after getting back to work from vacation... but I was finally able to get the pictures of the fish I was telling you about (yes the one that Bill talked me into throwing back that I really wish was on my wall...) It does exist and for those non-fisherpeople out there - the fish in Bill's hand was big.... mine is just a little bigger :-)

and the triple.....
Can you say, "Can't wait for next year?"
