Jadyn's Christmas Play...

This week was little City's Christmas play at his school Howardsville Christian. He did a great job singing with his class, and was looking quite grown up in his shirt and tie. We're a litle worried about his arms though.. as you can see in the picture they don't seem to work above his head :-) we're gonna have to work on that one city folk.

Thanksgiving & Lyz's Birthday

Thanksgiving & Lyz's b-day celebration was at our house was last weekend, and we had a great time. Of course we ate too much - can u say full on bread and olives and cheese before we even started eating...? The food was great, even the Pumpkin Pie despite my best efforts... and Rilley and Lilly once again had fun playing with the blocks - if you read this blog much you will notice we have like 1 toy at our house ... very boring... I think Lyz is going to bring us some new toys so the kids will have something different to play with....

All I really needed to know I learned on the Farm...

We recently had "farm dinner" with everyone who works on the farm during the year. It was a great time and we reminisced about some of the things we had learned in the last year of farming.... I would say we could actually replace All I ever needed to know I learned in Kindergarten to All I ever needed to know I learned on the farm.. but I think I will need some help. Here's what I have so far...

• Put things back where you find them.
• Tractors are Green, Trucks are Red.
• Smoke = Fire (maybe combine) GET THE WATER.
•Often in life, its better to be the hired man than the boss
• Quite a little bit means more than a little but less than a lot.
• You can learn a lot about a person by the way their hat is cocked.
• Lunchtime is at 12:00 noon - Don't bring spaghetti.
• When you go out into the world, look both ways when you cross the street.
• Rain is good - except when there is too much.
• Roots go down, plants go up - enough said
•No one actually knows where the Wasmunski place is...
•A pothole/wethole should probably remain that way... unless its in the way of something
•When its brown, it's down
•When life's got you down - pet King Kitty

8 years later....

For those of you who don't know - I hate my kitchen floor... well actually if you know me you probably know that I hate my kitchen floor - I think I have told everyone who I have ever talked to or who has been to my house. In fact now that I think about it, the first thing I said to Bill after we moved in was, we have to do something about this floor.. it was nasty white laminate and it was VERY hard to clean... did I mention we live on a dirt road??? So... just before Thanksgiving I had a meltdown and told Bill it was time - I had waited long enough the floor had to go - either we were doing it together or I was doing it alone it was up to him...
I'm pretty sure Bill wishes he would have picked option B, but instead he chose option A and we went shopping... we found some bamboo floor that we both had to have, then the fun began. Lets just say we are not floor installers nor will we ever be. We thought we had to glue it down so we bought this ridiculously priced $120 thing of glue and we were all set to get started - after hours of ripping up the old floor, but lucky for us Greg Peck stopped by and saved us from ourselves... (you have to nail down the floor)
So one long weekend, a lot of nails, a bruise from walking into the maul when Bill was swinging it, one trip to the hospital (Bill is allergic to Bamboo), and a very sore and tired Bill & Traci .. the floor is finally DONE! So now I don't hate my floor any more I LOVE IT and think it is the best floor ever!.... so here it is... before and after...

May I present Mr. & Mrs. Katie & Jeramie Newburn

Wedding Bells were ringing this weekend, Dan and Sarah McClure's daughter Katie married Jeramie Newburn. It was a beautiful wedding, and we had a great time. It was however the first time I had to introduce myself to the bride and groom at the wedding!!! But that didn't last long, we had a great time dancing and chatting with Katie and Jeramie and their families... here are some pics of the nights...

Tractor Rides

It's been awhile since I've had a chance to blog.... one thing that I missed telling you about was tractor rides...All kids love to ride in the tractors and they especially love the combine, so Trevor and Bill gave a few tractor rides this year.... First was Lucas Badiner Dave & Gloria's Grandson, he rode last year and his parents said it took him 8 months to stop talking about the tractors... so after this ride I think Jeremy and Sarah will be going to get Lucas his own tractor toy for Christmas :-)
And... this year Rilley and Lilly rode in the tractor for the first time and LOVED IT... Lyz says Rilley has been talking tractors for weeks now... hopefully Santa knows how to find the John Deere store... here's some more pictures of our Future Farmers of America... farming was done early this year - earlier than I can ever remember... so now its on to the pivot project and tree cutting - never a dull moment on the farm.
