First Fish of 2010

Somehow Bill managed to talk me into going out ice fishing last weekend in the freezing cold temperatures (it was approx. 14 degrees not counting the windchill). Armed with my lucky jigging pole that Jarrod made me and some trusty hand warmers I managed to catch some fish before I turned into a freezy-pop... in fact, the little fish in the picture below jumped on my hook when it was on its way down for the first time. What a great way to start off the ice fishing season. Don't worry mom, there was plenty of ice...
(Yes Cindi that is your coat - sorry - its warmer than mine)
No, its not a big fish, but it was the first fish of the year, I had to get a picture... don't worry, he had friends :-)

Speaking of big fish... Bill had so much fun he decided to go back out again (without me) and find some more fish... and here's what he caught... a HUGE Northern Pike - 39" and over 20lbs... awesome!
Happy fishing all you ice fishermen
