New Year = New Job (well, actually I've been doing it for 6 months but now its official). I recently moved from Instruments to the Corporate Office which is by the airport on Portage Rd. I'm basically doing the same thing - but have a new boss, new co-workers and a new place to go every day (some days I forget and drive to the old place) The best thing about the new job is I get to work on big projects all the time and I get to do computer security projects (which is what I went to school to do)... so that's cool. The bad news is I won't be in the same building with Kim anymore :-(.... but I will be visiting her building often so I will just have to schedule my visits around lunch time

In an effort to consolidate some of our IT services, the Corporate IT department and the Instruments IT department have been working on infrastructure consolidation. As part of this initiative, three members of the Instruments IT department are joining Corporate IT. Corporate IT will be providing infrastructure services to the Instruments and CMF divisions. These changes will allow us to better leverage the talent we have within Stryker and advance Corporate IT’s strategy of providing services to Stryker. I am pleased to announce the following organizational
changes within the Corporate IT department, effective immediately:
Traci Peck has joined the Corporate IT department and has been promoted to IT Infrastructure Administrator, reporting to me. Traci joined Stryker in 2005 and quickly established herself as an expert in virtualization technologies, Blackberry servers, and information security and assurance among others. In her time at Stryker she has implemented a virtual server farm which reduces the number of physical servers wesupport. She has helped to implement and support complex systems including SORN, Aruba Wireless, Juniper Remote Access, and others. Traci will be responsible for implementing and supporting a wide variety of systems and will be using her extensiveexpertise to continue to improve the security of Stryker IT.
January is my mom and Cindi's birthday month, so last night we decided to go out to dinner at River Lake Inn to celebrate - Cole and Lexi went over to visit Aunt Michelle and Connor and Mason and off to Dinner we went.. however, Trevor had a little more than birthday dinner in mind... before we all arrived, he proposed to Cindi - and for some crazy reason she said YES!! So wedding bells will be ringing soon! Speaking of rings - Cindi's is AWESOME but the picture is on my mom's camera so I will add it very soon.
This year for Christmas I decided that part of Cole's present would be for me to take him Skiing. Yesterday Cole was off from school and it was fairly nice out so we decided to head out to the slopes... Well, first we had to go to lunch at Logan's where we can throw peanuts on the floor.. then we had a little shopping to do (you will see why in the next post), then we went to the slopes. Once we finally made our way to the bunny hill - (walking in skis is very hard when you are 7 or even 27) we went up the rope without any incidents and after we got to the top I wasn't sure what Cole was going to think ... he crossed his ski's in a typical snowplow maneuver and I gave him a little push and off he went, he made it a little ways down the hill before he piled up.. I was sure this was the end of the skiing trip but I was wrong, after I picked him up he went down a bit farther this time he piled up with his legs spilling every which way (his skis and boots were so heavy that when he fell he couldn't get up - needless to say I am slightly sore from picking him up more times than I can count) but he did discover that he could go down the hill on his butt, kindof squatted down but on his skis.. that worked out for a few trips, then we worked on going down standing up... he made 2 successful trips down 1/2 of the hill on his feet before we were both exhausted and in need of some hot cocoa... I guess you will have to ask him if he wants to go skiing again, but he told me he did - with some lighter and smaller skis :-) here are some photos of the fun
A few weeks ago Cindi and I were going to help eachother paint... I was going to help her paint Cole's room and she was going to help me paint my Dining Room... well it turned out I was snowed in for the weekend so she had to paint without me - so as soon as I could get out of the driveway I went and bought some paint and erased the sesame street walls from the dining room... we also bought a cool Wine Rack from Crate & Barrel - check out the photos...
For those of you who haven't heard the good news... Kim & Phil are pregnant... in fact, 20 weeks and 5 days pregnant, only 135 days to go.. which is good because I think Kim is sick of puking every day... One funny part about this story is as you know Kim and I work together every day, so one day we go to Kohls at lunch, I have no idea why and Kim is standing there trying to pick out a frame and I'm asking - well what is it for, Birthday, Christmas, ?? what is the picture gonna be of I'm a little annoyed now what are we doing here is it lunch time yet how long does it take to pick out a freakin picture frame?? and she stands there and says... "I don't know" WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW - now I'm just getting confused... until she holds up a baby frame... HA now I get it (I think you had to be there) Anyway we are very excited for Kim & Phil and I personally can't WAIT to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl but I have to wait until he/she is born to find out... They just had their first ultrasound... and the baby is healthy and seems to be practicing its acrobatics. Check it out at their bloghttp://themaltburgs.blogspot.com/
Christmas at LaKnoll this year was histarical... we ate tons of delicious prime rib and turkey and had a lot of fun watching the kids with their toys. Lexi and Cole both love music and both received .mp3 players from Santa this year.... of course Aunt Traci had to do a little computer magic to get music on both of them. Lexi amused us by singing a line from her favorite song... "Don't you wish your Girlfriend was Hot Like ME"... if only I had the video camera running. Cole and Lexi also got a Wii this year, for those of you who weren't lucky enough to be around when Trevor and I were little... my dad would FREAK out if we touched the TV... he never let us plug in any game systems like our nintendo and if friend brought stuff over we weren't allowed to plug it into the TV cause we would "Break it" so we made him look the other way and we hooked up the Wii... the absolute funniest part was, he won.. Big Lare was the bowling champion (he even beat Cindi) and he only played one time - a little better than falling into the first pit in Mario like when we were kids. Here are some pics of the fun...
Hey all, sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I wanted to add the pictures of our Peck Christmas at our house... for about 6 months Bill has been wanting to make "fish boil" which consisted of all different types of sea creatures in a "boil" with all sorts of seasonings and potatoes and whatever... I personally wasn't too excited about this recipe, but we knew Lyz would be in heaven... what we didn't know was that Lilly and Rilley are seafood lovers as well... so the fish boil was a HUGE Hit! Here are some pics of the fun.
